Kindergarten art update

Kindergarteners used up the leftover painted paper scraps from 1st grade's Eric Carle collages to make my hallway look springy and beautiful!

...and now we are on to our prehistoric art unit, where we'll study cave art from Lascaux, France

We reviewed drawing animals using a combination of shapes

We used chalk, charcoal, and mud-colored crayons to create out cave art creatures.

Crinkling the paper gives us a bumpy texture, just like a real cave wall.

When we all crinkled the paper together, it sounded like a rainstorm in the classroom!

Handprints are like an artist's signature.  Next, Stonehenge!
