3-D gesture drawing: foil figures

Fourth graders are enjoying warming up their drawing skills using gesture drawing to quickly capture the movement and position of a figure.  Now we are taking it a step further by forming these gestures three-dimensionally, using aluminum foil.  After bunching and bending the foil into the desired position, we traced a shadow and glued the figures in front.  It was a fun way to broaden our figure drawing skills.

Thank you students and parents!

I was so happy to receive the flowers for Teacher Appreciation week!  They really brightened up my desk and my day!  I feel so lucky to have a job I love and such wonderful students to teach.  You are all just the best!  Love, Mrs. Knight
