Second graders made poems describing their favorite color using their five senses. We illustrated with magazine clippings and our own drawings. They had fun thinking about what a color "smells" or "sounds" like. Love poetry and art combinations!
We also enjoyed walking around and reading each other's poetry at the end...
I love this idea! This would be great for a gen ed classroom as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this!
ReplyDeleteI love this too. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCute idea! Did you use the book Hailstones and Halibut Bones with this lesson? If not you should look into it, it has great examples of using the five senses in color poetry.
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with that book but I will look for it, thanks for the tip!
