Valentine ATC trade

These cards from Ohio were a hit! They were complete with a removable handmade clay pin.
Happy Valentine's Day! I really enjoy getting old-fashioned mail - you know, letters in the mailbox and stuff...: )  So my 4th graders have been excited about sending and receiving our Love and Friendship themed Artist Trading Cards. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the teachers and students around the country who participated this year! A few of our friends from up north were affected by the blizzard, so we look forward to seeing your cards as soon as they arrive - hope you are thawing out!

Super cute package from Ohio - I was so excited I tore into it before snapping a pic!

Meaningful cards from Alabama, our neighbor state, enhanced with quotes

Super creative layered zentangles from Ms. Kruse's students in South Carolina

Mixed media mini masterpieces! -North Carolina

Oregon's finest ATC's from multiple age groups
Cute hearts from our neighbor to the north, Tennessee!

Bold graphic designs from Pennsylvania
Each student wrote comparisons of the cards they made and the cards they received, and we also mapped our trades.

  1. Hi Mrs. Knight! I am a fellow art teacher blogger at DreamPrayCreate.com and I have not ventured into the ATC realms but I just recently got the stuff for it and I was wondering if you would be interested in honoring me and my high school artists with our first trade. I don't really know how this works but I figure the best way to do this is to just jump right in and I noticed from your map that you don't have Maryland filled in just yet and since I am in Maryland, that would take care of it for you! If this isn't how the ATC works and there is some kind of forum to join it, I would so appreciate it if you let me know where I could find it. Thank you so much!

    1. Hey there, we would love that. That's how I got started too, with Mini Matisse and I had no idea what I was doing but I learned by experience! Only thing is that my curriculum is jam packed for the remainder of this semester. Can I put you on my list for next year's trade? Send me your email and I'll send you some specifics. I know my kids would love to trade with older kids, so thanks for your interest!

  2. I am also an art teacher interested in getting involved in trading with other schools. How did you get in contact with all the other schools and would you be interested in trading with my 4th grade students next year. We have 4 sections of 4th grade.

    1. Mary, I published a blog past last year asking for participants. Can you email me at knighth@fultonschools - I compile my requests there and I can add your email. I may do things a little differently this year, because I want to develop pen pals.
