Kindergarten learned some basic sewing skills, like threading a plastic needle and creating a running stitch for our summer suns. After two sessions of sewing, we used a variety of materials to create a sun face and practiced using tiny dots of liquid glue. I think these are so charming and folksy!

Fine Arts Night 2018
We had another big turnout this year - it was so great to see families coming out to celebrate art and music in our school! For the second year in a row, we added a community service aspect: raising money for our local animal shelter, FurKids. We had two items to raffle - a group project with lots and lots of little pet portraits, as well as a professional photography session with your pet. We are proud to present the shelter with a check to help with their expenses.
Artome once again did a wonderful job framing and displaying our art, and now that the show is over, students are going to be bringing home their portfolios starting this coming week with everything they have made this year - very exciting!
Thank you to my friend Mrs. Avery at Medlock Bridge ES for loaning me her fantastic collection of "face in a hole” art -it was fun to picture ourselves in a work of art. Thank you to all the families for your support and kind words at the art show, it was great seeing all of you.
